Dorchester County Assessor’s Reporting System to Shut Down for Two Weeks for Launch of New Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) System

ST. GEORGE, SC – April 24, 2014 The Dorchester County Assessor’s office will experience a temporary interruption in service to their current reporting system to perform tests to the County’s new Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) system.  Beginning April 25, 2014, the current system will remain offline for two weeks in preparation for the new system, expected to launch on May 12, 2014.  All regular services and operations will resume at this time.

The Assessor’s office will be open to assist the public, and will continue to receive all applications for legal residence and agricultural use classifications, as well as review deeds.  During this time, there can be no parcel corrections, and transfers and changes will not be reflected until testing of the new CAMA system is complete.  Moving permits for mobile homes and registration of new mobile homes will continue, but will be issued manually.
