Functions
Administers the County Safety Program; provides safety awareness to all County Departments. R.M.S. conducts facility safety inspections assuring OSHA and DHEC compliance; maintains an injury and accident data base. R.M.S. also administers the County’s Alcohol and Drug Screening Program. R.M.S. serves as a liaison between employees, the Legal staff and the Workers compensation and P & L insurance carriers. R.M.S. maintains the claims process as well. The department maintains a County Safety Library of reference materials; conducts routine safety training and driver training programs.
