Nightly Lanes Closures Begin on I-26 for Volvo Interchange Project

Conti Enterprises, Inc., in conjunction with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), will begin a series of nightly lanes closures on I-26 eastbound and westbound starting on Monday, July 10, for asphalt planning operations for the construction of the new Volvo Interchange.

 

The area of the eastbound lane closures will begin approximately one mile east of Exit 197, Ridgeville Road. The timetable for the eastbound closures is as follows:

 

Monday, July 10: 6:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Tuesday, July 11: 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Wednesday, July 12: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Thursday, July 13: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM

 

The area of the westbound lane closures will begin approximately four miles west of Exit 194, Jedburg. The timetable for the westbound closures is as follows:

 

Sunday, July 16: 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Monday, July 17: 6:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Tuesday, July 18: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Wednesday, July 19: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Thursday, July 20: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM

 

All scheduled times are approximate and dependent on the weather.

 

 

Information on additional lane closures

 

Banks Construction will begin nightly lane closures on I-26, in both the eastbound and westbound lanes, from mile marker 196 to mile marker 198, on Sunday, July 9, 2017.

 

Note: Mile Marker 196 to Mile Marker 198 is between Exit 194 (Jedburg) and exit 199 (Summerville/17A).

 

Construction operations will involve various lane closures between the hours of 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. One eastbound and one westbound lane of traffic will remain open, at all times, for the traveling public. 

 

Drivers traveling near the construction zone are asked to be aware of equipment and crews working in the area. Drivers are also asked to comply with traffic control signs, reductions in speed limits, and message board information. 

 

All road work is dependent on the weather. The anticipated project completion date is September 30, 2017.
