The Fire Department operates under the direction of the County Administrator and is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering mutual aid, fire training programs, fire emergency response, operational guidelines, provides administrative oversight of the County Fire Fund, responds to major emergency incidents, establishes goals of improving fire delivery services and in reducing the Fire Districts ISO rating systems.
The Dorchester County Fire Service is dedicated to safeguarding the lives, property, and environment of our community through exceptional service utilizing education, preparedness, prevention, and response to emergency incidents. An essential function of the department is to provide opportunities for a positive presence in the community.
